“Buddy!” said Joe. “Snap out of it!” He clapped his hands.

Buddy jerked back to normal again.

“Did you live in Argyll Avenue?” asked Joe.

Buddy nodded. “Madge taught me to say my address in case I got lost.”

Joe rolled his eyes. “Why didn’t you say so? Bird brain!” He grinned. “Argyll Avenue’s not far from here.”

Buddy began bobbing his head up and down, flapping his wings and chirping. “Can we go? Can we go now?”

Joe shut down the computer. “Tomorrow, Buddy. We’ll go tomorrow.”
